The Dorset Maverick Brewers! Cerne Abbas brewery boasts a huge amount of personality with tonnes of fun. The owners are entertaining and you can easily lose a few hours at their taproom. As they quote they are a 'modest brewery with Giant integrity. Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy!'.
Their beer is brewed using green sand-filtered water of the finest quality, Maris Otter barley which is organically grown in the Cerne Valley by Will Best at Manor Farm, and other top-quality ingredients. The Tiger Tom stout is especially good as an alternative to Guinness (some say it's better!) and the Dorset ale is exceptionally good as a light ale. We haven't yet had a chance to try their coconut rum based beer which has won a lot of awards. We are told it is pretty special.
Regular food pop-ups and music events
Throughout the year, the brewery hosts a number of events. In particular, their festivals are renowned for being huge amounts of fun with lots of bands to entertain the crowd. Set within a huge barn. What's not to like?

Cerne Abbas Brewery is 5.7 miles away, an 11 minute drive. Or even better still, why not catch the bus from Glanvilles Wootton, just a few yards from the house, to the centre of Cerne Abbas village itself. It is then a short walk from the village to the brewery. What a lovely way to spend an afternoon savouring the tastes of all their various ales! Be sure to check their opening times.
