The Gaggle of Geese is a family owned freehouse pub, run by Simon & Sarah. Previously running a pub near Brighton, the couple have fully renovated the venue and have created all that you see today. With 4 acres of garden, the Gaggle of Geese is the Winner of the 2023 Great British Pub Awards for Best Pub Garden and a final 6 finalist for the Best Pub for Families.
The Gaggle of Geese is just over 2.5 miles from the Old Post Office, a 7 minute drive.
The pub setup is completely family orientated. With crazy golf, pygmy goats, a soft play double decker playbus and football goals, young children are easily entertained whilst you unwind and relax in the Dorset countryside.
Join in the Gaggle Waggle 5k run over Buckland Newton’s beautiful countryside. You can run, walk, race or potter and chat! The regulars are small group and very friendly towards newcomers. If those running shoes are calling you, why not join them?
You can view their facebook page www.facebook.com/gagglewaggle
Gaggle Fest is the Gaggle of Geese's annual music festival. With The Entitled Sons headlining, the gate opens from midday with bands throughout the day. And once the music is finished, you can relax around the fire pit with a professional story teller. With both the main bar in the pub and the garden bar, there is a BBQ, pizzas, hog roast and ice-creams. Cash recommended! The soft-play bus will be open for younger kids (small charge applies). It will be a busy day so if you would like to be guaranteed a seat then feel free to take your own chair! And go prepared for weather. Tickets need to be bought in advance. www.gaggleofgeese.co.uk/events
